Jasmine Hudson

Co-Founder & Chief Merchant | Black Paper Party

“Jasmine Hudson is a proud Tennessee State University alumna, Cincinnati native, and dynamic entrepreneur whose career bridges corporate retail leadership and culturally-rooted brand building. Her foundation at TSU shaped her belief that HBCUs produce the boldest builders, sharpest strategists, and most resilient leaders in business — a belief she carries into every room she enters.

Before launching her ventures, Jasmine spent nine years at Walmart as a merchandising strategist, managing more than $2.3 billion in retail spend across multiple categories. That experience gave her an insider’s view of how products win shelf space, how buyers think, and how brands scale — knowledge she now uses to open doors for the next generation of Black founders.

Jasmine is the Co-Founder and Chief Merchant of Black Paper Party LLC, an industry-leading celebration brand anchored in Black representation during holidays and special occasions. Black Paper Party is sold in Walmart, Macy’s, Dollar General, and other major retailers, making cultural celebration accessible at scale. She also founded Black Owned NWA, a boutique marketing firm dedicated to the recruitment, retention, and success of Black communities in Northwest Arkansas, where she has built a powerful ecosystem of Black entrepreneurs, professionals, and culture-makers.

Across every venture, Jasmine is passionate about driving representation, inclusion, and innovation in the retail industry and beyond. She is a sought-after speaker and advisor on retail strategy, brand building, and the realities of scaling as a Black founder. Her work is grounded in the conviction that representation isn’t a trend — it’s an economic and cultural imperative.

Jasmine credits Tennessee State University with giving her the confidence, community, and conviction to build boldly — and remains committed to championing the next generation of HBCU entrepreneurs.”
