DJ 5’9, born and raised in Orange, New Jersey, is a professional DJ, entrepreneur, and cultural curator with a career spanning over two decades. A Virginia State University graduate, he became a professional DJ in 2004 and rose to prominence as the official tour DJ for MMG artist Wale (2009–2015). DJ 5’9 has played across genres and around the globe, with residencies in DC hotspots like Barcode, Rosebar, and MGM Grand Hotel. He has been a guest DJ on “Sway in the Morning,” official DJ for CBCF events, and held on-air roles with 93.9 WKYS and “The Fam in The Morning.”

He has worked with brands like Adidas, Under Armour, and Nike and served as the official DJ for BET’s 106 & Park and Music Choice’s Rap Channel. DJ 5’9 also dedicates over 24 hours annually to community service in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. As an entrepreneur, he is the President of Davis and Brown Company LLC (consulting & logistics) and VP of Hayes Project Inc (home of the first African-American GEICO office in DC).
