Luke Lawal Jr. is the CEO and founder of L & Company, a minority-based corporation in Los Angeles. As a passionate entrepreneur, Luke focuses on empowering young professionals and giving back to his community to nurture the next generation of leaders. He is also a Master Mason and a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

Luke’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2011 at Bowie State University when he founded HBCU Buzz, a brand created to promote HBCU culture and raise awareness about historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). HBCU Buzz enhances pride and unity within the HBCU community, providing trends and breaking news that improves the perception of these institutions. Today, it is the leading source of HBCU news and has earned the title of “the most influential brand in the HBCU community.”

Luke’s achievements include being named to the “DMV Top 30 Under 30” list in 2014 and The Root’s 100 Black Influencers List in 2016. In 2022, he received BET’s Shine A Light Award for his community contributions. In 2023, Luke authored Rich Black, Poor Black, a book focused on enhancing financial literacy among young Black people.

Luke Lawal Jr. continues to make a significant impact by dedicating his efforts to advancing the Black community and supporting the growth of HBCUs.
