“Miranda Perez is a Program Coordinator at the HBCU Founders Initiative (HBCUFI), where she leads the nation’s first and largest HBCU-centered pre-accelerator. In this role, she oversees curriculum development and delivers hybrid eight-week programs alongside hands-on design thinking workshops that support more than 100 innovators each semester across multiple campuses. Her work centers on equipping early-stage founders with the tools, mentorship, and network needed to build scalable ventures, while also fostering a culture of innovation within Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Beyond program leadership, Miranda plays a key role in shaping HBCUFI’s public relations and brand strategy. She has successfully elevated the organization’s national visibility by securing media placements in prominent outlets such as Forbes, Black Enterprise, AfroTech, and Insight Into Diversity. Through strategic storytelling and digital engagement, she amplifies the mission of expanding access and opportunity for underrepresented founders in tech and entrepreneurship.
A first-generation college graduate from Clark Atlanta University, Miranda is also an accomplished journalist whose work has reached wide audiences through platforms including Essence, The Guardian, Business Insider, and Built In. Shaped by her upbringing in Chicago, she brings a mission-driven perspective to her work, grounded in a deep commitment to advancing equity at the intersection of media, technology, and entrepreneurship.”
