Dr. Micah Crump is a tenured Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Department of Economics and Finance at Medgar Evers College, CUNY, in Brooklyn, New York. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, he holds a PhD and MBA from Morgan State University, and a BS degree from Coppin State University. His teaching, research, and publications all center on increasing successful entrepreneurship rates among current and new Black business owners.
He served as an entrepreneurship trainer and consultant for small business development centers, and faculty advisor to numerous student entrepreneurship organizations and new venture startups. He is a former McNair Scholar and holds memberships with the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society, the International Golden Key Honour Society, and the Southwestern Society of Economists.
He served in the U.S. military, worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and has run several businesses including co-founding a family firm named Micah’s Cafeteria. Dr. Crump has taught many undergraduate and graduate business and entrepreneurship courses at several HBCUs and PBIs, implementing many innovative new entrepreneurship activities, curriculum, and programs there.
